Epic Games has received a $2 billion investment from existing investor Sony Group Corporation as well as Kirkbi, which is Lego"s parent company. The press release says that the funding will be directed towards the company"s vision to build the metaverse and support its continued growth.

Both Sony and Kirkbi are investing $1 billion each. Epic Games had also recently announced partnership with Lego to build a place for kids to play in the metaverse. With the funding, the company aims to create new social entertainment exploring the connections between the digital and physical worlds.
