The Epic Games Store has been making lots of waves recently, by giving away a free game every two weeks, signing exclusivity deals with major publishers, and more. Now, Epic has updated its refund policy for games, bringing it more in line with Steam.
According to Epic"s previous store policy, two refunds were allowed per year. As reported by GI.biz, even then users had to jump through many hoops in order to refund their purchases, such as providing the last four digits of the card that was used to purchase the game, the date the account was created, and other sensitive information.
Moving forward, this policy has been amended to ensure that gamers can request unlimited refunds per year as long as the title they are returning was purchased less than 14 days ago and has been played less than two hours. The move was announced by Epic"s director of publishing strategy Sergey Galyonkin on Twitter:
We also changed our refund policy. Unlimited refunds within 14 days of purchase and under 2 hours played. The team is working on the self-service solution, but for now, you"ll have to go through player support.
