Epic introduces Fortnite Zero Build, a permanent battle royale mode with no building

With the latest seasonal update for Fortnite, developer Epic Games switched off the classic building in the battle royale with a limited-time event. While it was a temporary mode, quite a few positive reactions formed out of the change, and leaks suggested Epic was looking to making the mode a permanent one. Today, Zero Build was announced, making that exact change.

Players will now be able to find Zero Build on the Discover page offering solo, duo, trio, and squad playlists of action without any resource farming or impromptu structures in sight. Battles will be decided on the skill of players" gunplay, gadget handling, and traversal expertise, much like in rival battle royal experiences.

To balance the lack of cover and new time-to-kill ranges, Epic has given recharging Overshields to everyone playing the mode. The new mobility features that arrived with the seasonal update like sprinting, zipline Ascenders, and mantling will also help in getting around quickly to outmaneuver opponents.

As Zero Build drops across all platforms, those who like building can jump back into regular Fortnite and find the feature back in action. Check out the complete patch notes from today"s game update here, which also has the new anti-vehicle Anvil Rocket Launcher and a couple of rifles that are vying to get out of the vault.
