Essential Phone drops to CAD $650 in Canada

Andy Rubin"s Essential Phone made its debut in May with modular accessories and high-end specifications. The handset received a price cut in the United States last month, dropping from $699 to $499. A price cut for Canada was also announced, but the new price wasn"t revealed until now.

The company has officially slashed the price of the Essential PH-1 in Canada to CAD $650, a price drop of CAD $400 off its original price. It"s worth mentioning that the handset went up for sale in Canada for CAD $1,050. Unlike the United States, the handset is only available in Canada from TELUS at the moment -- the unlocked version is not available in the country, but you can get it unlocked from the carrier if you want to use it on any other carrier.
