Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

It isn"t any kind of secret that the GameCube is pretty much known for appealing to younger gamers. While there have been some attempts to bring this darker content to the GameCube, including the arrival of Resident Evil as an exclusive, Nintendo has decided to enter this market firmly with Silicon Knights" developed, Eternal Darkness: Sanity"s Requiem.

The story and gameplay have remained consistent throughout the long process, yet Eternal Darkness has undergone as massive graphical tweaking to take advantage of the visual performance of the GameCube. When last seen all seemed that this would indeed be quite an impressive and highly charged gaming experience.

The story again will follow multiple characters in different time periods rather than just focusing on a single on-screen persona. The game"s storyline unfolds over the eons of time, making for a fairly epic adventure where actions in one time period may have serious repercussions in another. The horror element is also akin to that of noted 1920s gothic writer H.P. Lovecraft, where what you don"t see is actually worse than what you do. Confounding your efforts will be the use of a "sanity meter" for each character that you are playing, and as some things will drive you to the brink of madness, you"ll lose a bit of your sanity.
