Last week, Evernote CTO Dave Engberg told the attendees of Business Insider"s IGNITION Mobile conference that the average revenue, per user, from its Windows Phone users was actually ahead of its larger Android user base. Today, Evernote announced a major new version of its Windows Phone app is now available for download.
The Evernote blog has the details of what"s new and changed in the new 3.0 version of the Windows Phone app, starting with a design of its Home Screen which the company says gives users quick access to anything they need.
A new feature for the app is Shortcuts, which allows users to quickly jump to any frequently accessed note, notebook or log. The blog states:
To create a shortcut, simply long tap on any of those items. The shortcut will then appear on the Home Screen. One very cool aspect of shortcuts is that they sync across platforms. Today, shortcuts are available on Mac, Android and Windows Phone. Any shortcuts that you create on one platform will also appear on the others.
The tag list in the Windows Phone Evernote app has been changed to make it more compact so that more tags are visible and each tag can now be accessed by letter. It also supports support the creation and editing of checkboxes along with Notebook Stacks. Finally, premium Evernote users can now access Document Search in the Windows Phone app. The blog states:
Document Search indexes any attached Microsoft Word, iWork or OpenOffice files so that documents, spreadsheets and presentations show up in your search results giving you more ways to find exactly what you need.
