Microsoft has yet to comment on sales of the new Windows Phone-based smartphones but there is evidence that things might be looking better than anticipated. WMPoweruser.com claims that a new surge in Windows Phone 7 Facebook users may be a clue to figuring out sales of the new mobile phones.
The study claims that the number of Windows Phone 7-based Facebook users jumped from 1 million on November 11 to 1.1 million two weeks later on on November 25. The story claims that could indicate that as much as 600,000 new Windows Phone 7-based smartphones have been purchased. If those numbers are true that would represent a rise of three times the number of devices compared to the previous two week time period.
More evidence of good sales for the new Windows Phone models can be seen at the AT&T web site where the HTC Titan smartphone is currently out of stock at the moment. There"s no word on how many units of the massive 4.7 inch smartphone were shipped but we bet HTC, AT&T and Microsoft all wish they had ordered more now.
In addition, WPCentral.com reports that some people who ordered the Samsung Focus S from AT&T have received emails saying that the phone is on back order, even though the phone is shown as being available to purchase on AT&T"s web site. Let"s hope that Microsoft will be able to give us more clarity on Windows Phone sales in January around CES time.
