Facebook Messenger for Windows XP & Vista released

Even if you"re still using the decade old Windows XP, (or forced to, for whatever reason) Facebook doesn"t mind, because it has recently provided an update to Facebook Messenger for Windows to support both XP and Vista. Previously, the app which was released back in March only supported Windows 7.

Imagine this, but then with the Luna theme.

When you are logged into the Messenger, you can chat with your Facebook friends without having to go to the Facebook web page itself. It also allows users to see your latest Facebook stalker friend requests, be notified if there is any friend activity such as a comment or a new friend approval or if they have been tagged in a photo. Otherwise, the app is a pretty bare bones affair in terms of features. There"s no support for voice or video chat, which is a bit odd since Facebook has a partnership with Skype.

We can"t find any release notes for this particular update, other than knowing it now works on older versions of Windows, supports group chats, and appear offline to a certain individual. But to be honest, if you"re still running Windows XP at home, you probably don"t care for them anyway.
