Just three days after the launch of stalker app Breakup Notifier, Facebook promptly banned it after over 100,000 plus curious users logged into the service; but from today that relationship appears to be "on" again.
The service eventually gained around 3 million users within 3 days, and Facebook released a statement to the app creator Dan Loewenherz, at the time that the app rejection was simply to protect its service from spammers;
"To ensure positive user experiences on the Platform, we run routine automated screens that take user feedback, machine learning and various algorithms into account and remove spammy applications.” said a spokesperson for Facebook.
The service which pings Facebook every 10 minutes to check the relationship status, notifies you via email when your "target" changes their relationship status on Facebook.
However, Loewenherz wasted no time after his app got banned, and put together Crush Notifier, which is as anonymous, and more importantly didn"t get banned.
Thanks for the tip jwoodfin09 in our forums, and for the image (which he obtained from a "friend") which we"ve included in this post.
