Every now and then, a rather bizarre product slips into the world of technology related products. An announcement earlier has revealed a perfect example of this: the company VitaminWater, known for making, well... vitamin water, will soon be manufacturing a "Connect" flavored drink, "made by fans, for fans on Facebook."
VitaminWater recently held a competition on Facebook in which fans could design their own flavor of drink to be manufactured, packing references to the social networking site on the bottle. According to TechCrunch, the label makes numerous references to friend requests, and other features of the site. VitaminWater"s announcement read as follows:
unlike the never-ending debate over whether it"s rock-paper-scissors or paper-rock-scissors, based on your votes and your designs, the latest flavor of vitaminwater has FINALLY been decided... introducing the black cherry-lime flavored vitaminwater named... connect! check out this new package- flavor & ingredients, name & label design- all inspired by you- our fans. it"s got 8 key nutrients plus caffeine. thanks for all your help- especially to the grand prize winner Sarah from Illinois and the four other finalist https://budurl.com/q27w. vitaminwater connect will be available in stores nationwide in march this year- so until then, stay hydrated- and keep your eyes here for news, updates and special offers for connect, including a possible sneak tasting opportunity. and btw... it"s rochambeau!
As mentioned, the drink"ll be hitting stores in about two months, so keep your eyes peeled for that. We"ve included a video from Steve Nash, regarding the competition. Share your opinion in the comments, Neowin.
