During its F8 conference last year, Facebook unveiled new changes to the social media platform focusing on private spaces, communities, and more. Then in March of this year, the company rolled out the new design to the majority of its users, with an opt-in button to switch to the new Facebook.
Today, the social networking giant has finally made the fresh web experience available to everyone worldwide. The redesigned Facebook for the web borrows heavily from its mobile design, with a simplified navigation bar that provides quick access to videos, marketplace, groups, and games. Facebook also claims the home page will now load faster and page transitions are now smoother than before. You will also see a redesigned icon with a lighter shade of blue around the "f" logo.
Facebook"s dark mode is also available on its new web version, helping to reduce strain on the eye when browsing the site in low light environments. It can be turned on by heading over to the dropdown menu and selecting the dark mode toggle. You can also create pages, groups, events, fundraisers, marketplace listings, and ads more easily by clicking the "+" icon at the top navigation bar next to your profile name. You can enable the new web experience by clicking the dropdown menu in the old Facebook and then choosing "Switch to New Facebook".
