Mediatonic recently announced that its blockbuster multiplayer platformer Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout would be finally hitting the Xbox and Switch platforms later this year, with the studio aiming for a summer launch. However, today it revealed that the summer launch window will not be met, saying that the "schedule is unfortunately just too soon for us to include all of the tasty new features we"re working on.
"While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we believe the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth waiting for and we’re super grateful for your patience," added the development team in its blog.
One of the "tasty new features" the developer mentioned today is the long-anticipated cross-play support, letting all players stumble around levels together regardless of what platform they are playing on.
Unfortunately, Mediatonic did not have new launch dates to share for the Xbox One, Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch versions, nor the cross-play support update. Meanwhile, the Fall Guys Season 4.5 update is slated to land in the near future, bringing two new rounds and even more cosmetic content.
Following the recent acquisition, Mediatonic is now owned by Epic Games. The studio has said there are no plans in motion to remove the title from Steam.
