Fallout 76 beta opens its vault door in October

Fallout 76, Bethesda"s upcoming venture into making a multiplayer Fallout game, was announced earlier this year, with the first gameplay reveal incoming during the company"s E3 conference last month. While the new wasteland and its mutated creatures are still four months away from launch, Bethesda announced today that the beta will kick off in October.

However, no specific dates were given in the forum post that gave out this information, with it only saying that "Starting in October we’ll be selecting people who have pre-ordered the game from a participating retailer to enter our B.E.T.A." The post added that the pool of players will start small but will gradually increase to allow everyone who pre-ordered the title.

According to the FAQ section dedicated to the highly anticipated beta, it looks like Xbox One players will get to have a crack at the game first, with PC and PlayStation 4 players following after. Note that digital pre-orders for PC are currently exclusive to the Bethesda.net launcher, as a Steam page is still nowhere in sight.

If everything goes to plan, Fallout 76 is slated to launch the month after the beta on November 14 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
