Bethesda announced last week that Fallout 76 is gaining private server support, and that has now come to pass, arriving in the form of a subscription program named Fallout 1st. Those playing the multiplayer survival game can now dish out $12.99 per month or $99.99 per year to Bethesda for gaining a private server, among other benefits.
The private server can host up to eight players, offering the entire Appalachia to explore in Adventure mode. Only the host needs to be a Fallout 1st member, and they can invite anyone else over to their private server.
However, the private server will only remain active as long as the owner or another Fallout 1st member is online and playing on it, otherwise it will kick the remaining players and shut down until the owner spins it back up. Although changed game rules and mods are planned for these private worlds, Bethesda doesn"t have a roadmap for these features yet.
As for the other bonuses, the $12.99 also nets members a monthly portion of 1,650 Atoms for use in the premium shop alongside exclusive discounts, a private Scrapbox with unlimited space for crafting components, a survival tent item for setting up a quick base of operations which also serves as a fast travel point, as well as exclusive cosmetic items.
Bethesda says it will keep the offered cosmetic and utility items rotating to keep the benefits fresh.
Fallout 76"s Fallout 1st subscription is available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Those interested in subscribing can head over to its official sign-up portal over here, which also hosts a handy FAQ section at the bottom.
