Ferrari adds Apple iPad Minis and Siri voice to its newest models

Luxury car maker Ferrari is going to expand its in-car infotainment systems with the help of Apple. According to a report from Bloomberg the car manufacturer will be adding iPad minis and Siri voice control to its cars. The news comes only after a few months since Apple VP Eddy Cue joined Ferrari"s board so it"s perhaps of no surprise that the two companies are planning on working together more closely.

The iPad minis will first be found in the brand new Ferrari four-seater: the FF. They will be used by the rear passengers to access information as well as do the normal things one does on an iPad. The driver will have access to Siri via a feature implemented in iOS 6 called Eyes Free. This allows the driver to access the digital assistant by pressing a button on the steering wheel without having to go through menus and visual cues.

This also seems to be just a starting point for the two companies, with Luca Cordero Di Montezemolo, Ferrari"s Chairman, saying that the two companies will be "more precise" in their collaboration going forward.
