First ATI Radeon 9600 Mobility ships

AS PROMISED, the Radeon 9600 Mobility shipped in its first commercial product Gericom Overdose Radeon 9600 15" TFT, which looks like one powerful notebook machine. Gericom, an Austrian firm, has a notebook using a configuration based on the Pentium 4 2.2 GHz chip, the SIS chipset and the Radeon 9600 Mobility with 64 or 128MB of memory.

It also has a 60GB hard drive, DVD recorder, modem, LAN card, and sound and costs €1760. Gericom is already shipping these machines and selling it from its web site, where you can tweak the configuration. The machine weighs 2.5Kg which isn"t a bad weight for would-be road warriors.
