The first generation Moto G smartphone has started receiving the Lollipop update in India.
It was reported nearly a month ago that Motorola devices could be the first ones to get Lollipop ahead of Google"s own Nexus range. Some of the Motorola smartphones did indeed get the update while some were promised to get it soon. One such device was the first generation Moto G, which has now started receiving Android 5.0 in India.
According to Motorola"s Indian website, Moto G users will get a notification about the Lollipop update soon, if they haven"t received it already. The update promises to bring many new features along with those introduced by Google with Lollipop.
Some of the additional features mentioned on Motorola"s support page include Downtime integration with Motorola Assist and support for Moto 360 and other devices for Smart Unlock.
Since the Android build on Motorola devices is mostly stock, with the exception of few extra apps, users will be able to enjoy Material Design in its full glory. The firmware version of the Lollipop build that is seeding out in India is 220.21.16.
