First Grand Theft Auto V gameplay trailer released

Grand Theft Auto V may be the most anticipated video game release of 2013 and today publisher Rockstar Games finally gave the public its first glimpse of actual gameplay from the open-world action game sequel with a new trailer.

The video, as posted on YouTube, shows how the game will interweave the three playable characters (Franklin, Trevor and Michael) into its single player mode. One of the sequences in the trailer shows Michael rappelling from a helicopter flown by Trevor. Michael is placed next to a high rise building and shoots out a window. At one point, the gameplay switches to the player controlling Franklin who shoots out some enemies from a sniper position in a nearby building.

The clip shows that the main focus of the single player game, in terms of missions, will be robberies, as the trio of characters team up to execute their plans. There"s also tons of other things to do in GTA V, as the trailer shows that players can hunt wild animals, ride bicycles, play golf or tennis, go for a scuba dive, or even invest in stocks and real estate.

As expected, the gameplay world is vast and players will have the entire world to explore out of the box when they are not on missions. The trailer also offered up a brief preview of Grand Theft Online, the multiplayer portion of the game. GTA V is due out on September 17th for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
