Samsung unveiled their 10-inch Windows 7 tablet with a slide-out keyboard today at CES 2011. Neowin got a first look at the Samsung Sliding PC 7 series tablet. This is the worlds first hybrid PC and tablet.
The device was running Windows 7 Home Premium with a multi-touchscreen interface. The tablet can be used just like an iPad, but features a sliding keyboard which can be turned upright just like a laptop. The device weighs in at 2.2lbs, features IntelĀ® ATOMTM Oak Trail Z670 processor @ 1.66GHz, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 1366 x 768 screen resolution, 1.3MP front and rear-facing camera in both a 32GB and 64GB model. The tablet also has a USB and HDMI port, wireless 802.11b/g/n, 3G and WiMax capatible, 4-in-1 card reader, ambient light sensor. The device promises up to 9 hours of battery life.
With so many tablet makers launching a tablet this year, Samsung is attempting to stand out from the rest with this hybrid tablet/PC. With a lightweight design and full PC experience, consumers will be jumping at the $699 price tag when this device launches in the second quarter of this year.
