Since launching in late May in Europe and in June in the US, the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone has been a huge sales hit. In November, the company announced it had sold 30 million units, and we are sure that number is much higher thanks to people buying new smartphones over the holidays.
Now that we are into 2013, the rumors have already started about Samsung"s plans for the successor to the Galaxy S III. Today, the SamMobile.com website claims to have received an image from an unnamed tipster from Samsung that is reportedly a render of the Galaxy S IV.
Based on the image, the picture appears to be taken from a monitor or display that was showing the render of the Galaxy S IV, perhaps as part of an internal Samsung marketing presentation. The article notes that the render does not have a physical home button on the bottom, as the Galaxy S III does. It also appears to have a thinner case and a larger display than the Galaxy S III.
Is this image the real deal? If it is a slide from a genuine Samsung marketing demo, perhaps it is also outdated and the final version of the Galaxy S IV will be different than the one pictured above. There"s no way to say for sure, at least until Samsung makes its plans for its next Galaxy S phone official. We don"t expect that to happen until sometime in late spring 2013.
