First Serious Sam 3 in-game trailer released

One of 2011"s most anticipated first person shooter is Serious Sam 3: BFE (and no, we don"t know what BFE stands for yet). The next game in developer Croteam"s over the top shooter series is due for release for the PC later this summer and will be shown for the first time in public at E3 2011 next week. Today IGN has released the first gameplay trailer for Serious Sam 3 which you can check out below.

The trailer shows all of the trademarks of the Serious Sam series: impressive looking graphics, weird enemies to shoot and lots and lots of mayhem. The frame rate seems a little low in the trailer but we will chock that up to the fact that the game hasn"t been completed yet. Croteam"s publisher for Serious Sam 3 is Devolver Digital which previously worked with Croteam on the graphical re-releases of the first two Serious Sam games.

Croteam"s Serious Sam 3 will be preceded by a trio of other Serious Sam themed games for the PC and other platforms that were made by famed indie game developers. One is Serious Sam: The Random Encounter, a RPG based game developed by Vlambeer. The second is Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack! It"s a side scroller action game from developer Be-Rad Entertainment. Finally there"s Serious Sam: Double D, a platformer themed action game from developer Mommy’s Best Games that will allow the player to stack up guns. At the moment there"s no word on when any of the indie Serious Sam games will be released.
