First travel agency app for Windows 8 released

While Microsoft"s Bing division has already released its own Travel app for Windows 8, today it was revealed that the first dedicated travel agency app for Microsoft"s next OS is now available to download.

The press release from the oddly named CheapOAir announces that their free Windows 8 app is currently available for the Release Preview version of Windows 8. The company states:

CheapOair"s Windows 8 app allows customers to quickly and efficiently sort through millions of discounted flights by price, stops and departure/arrival time. Customers are then able to easily identify the best vacation options for their needs and book straight from their device at anytime from anywhere in the world.

The app also has 24/7 customer support, along with SSL security encryption.

With Windows 8 and its ARM-based cousin Windows RT scheduled to be installed on a number of tablet products, it"s likely that travel apps made for the "Modern" user interface will be used quite a bit by business owners to book flights quickly while on the go. Hopefully other online travel agencies such as Orbitz, Priceline, Travelocity, Expedia and others will also support Windows 8 with their own apps in the coming weeks and months.
