About two weeks ago, reports emerged that the screens on some Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices were suffering from a pronounced red tint. Samsung promised to roll out a software fix by the end of April, which it did in its home market of South Korea. That same update is now being distributed to users in select European countries.
According to SamMobile, the fix is being rolled out to Galaxy S8 handsets in Turkey and the UK, as well as S8+ handsets in Turkey and Germany. It is unclear if the flagship devices in only these countries have been affected, or if this is the first stage of the rollout.
The software fix, which weighs in at 426MB, brings more advanced options for the Adaptive Display mode. This lets users tweak the appearance of white tones on the edges as well as the colour balance of the panel.
Users in Germany, Turkey and the UK can expect this fix to arrive via an over-the-air-update.
