For Honor"s seasonal content drops continue, with Ubisoft unveiling Grudge & Glory as the fighting game"s third season. The studio calls the new season its largest update for the game yet, bringing new heroes, maps, and more.
This season introduces competitive play for the game, with 1vs1 ranked duel tournaments, in which competing and finishing in top spots will grant players exclusive rewards.
Meanwhile, joining the Shinobi and the Centurion heroes from the previous season are the new heroes: the Highlander and the Gladiator.
The Highlander arrives for the Viking faction wielding a massive claymore that grants them impressive reach, and with the ability to switch between offensive and defensive forms in battle. On the other hand, joining the Knight faction is the Gladiator; which is a very agile class with low armor, but with a larger stamina meter and reduced cool down times.
Both of these new heroes will be available for season pass holders on August 15, with regular players getting the chance to buy them for in-game credits (Steel) starting August 22. Heroes are the only content that are soft-locked behind the season pass, with all other content arriving free of charge to all players.
The season also arrives with two new maps, Sentinel and Viking Village, featuring brand new environmental hazards to watch out for, other than opposing players of course.
The new "Legendary" gear rarity, an increased reputation cap, along with a new game update, will be landing along with Season 3 of For Honor on August 15 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Beyond that, Ubisoft plans to introduce 4vs4 ranked modes and dedicated servers down the line, although there aren’t any set dates for these features.
