Over the past couple of months, we have seen several renders of the upcoming and unannounced Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. In December alone, we have seen at least five renders and it now appears that Forbes is throwing another log on the fire just for good measure.
The site reports with certainty that this render is what the Galaxy S9 will look like when it is announced. The outlet claims that the render is so accurate that case manufacturer Ghostek, which showed off a render a month back, has already started taking orders for the cases. While the confidence oozing from the report is reassuring, similar to any other time a render has leaked online, things can change.
As noted before, multiple times, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will have a similar design to the current Galaxy S8. While on first glance things will look identical, there will be a small change in the thickness of the bezel on the top and bottom of the handsets. Samsung is looking to make things even sleeker by maximizing the screen-to-body ratio of the smartphones. Just like we saw last week, the new render also shows vertically stacked camera sensors, along with the repositioned fingerprint reader. If things pan out, the Galaxy S9 will have a single camera, while the Galaxy S9+ will offer a dual camera sensor.
While the devices were rumored to make an appearance at CES 2018, a representative from Samsung later chimed in saying that this would be "unlikely". With CES only a couple weeks away, it won"t be long before we find out. If Samsung doesn"t show off the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in January, there is always the possibility that it will make its debut at Mobile World Congress, which starts at the end of February. Either way, we won"t have long to wait to find out what Samsung has to offer for its next iteration in its Galaxy line.
