Fossil Sport unboxing and first impressions

Fossil first announced its Sport Smartwatch back in November, as one of the first to use Qualcomm"s Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform. I got my first look at it at CES this year, and I just fell in love with it. This device is magnificently light, and it"s just so comfortable to wear. It"s pretty stylish too.

Unfortunately, this device is still in short supply, so I wasn"t able to get a review unit. But I enjoyed the Fossil Sport so much at CES that I actually went out and bought one. Also, it helped that my Apple Watch broke, although it"s worth noting that when I tried on the Fossil Sport, it was the first Wear OS watch I"ve used that I thought I"d actually allow to replace my Apple Watch.

The Snapdragon Wear 3100 has some unique features. While Qualcomm is still using ARM Cortex-A7 in its smartwatch platform, it uses what the firm calls big-small-tiny, basically scaling down big.LITTLE to smartwatches. It allows for color ambient displays, a second hand on the ambient display, and more.
