Fourth One UI 3 beta build for the Samsung Galaxy S20 series brings camera improvements

Samsung has begun rolling out the fourth Android 11-based One UI 3 beta build for Galaxy S20 users enrolled in the beta program. While the changelog for the update does not explicitly mention any specific enhancements, folks over at SamMobile report that the changes include improvements to the Space Zoom feature that leads to clearer images at the 100x digital zoom level on the S20 Ultra and a new UI for the screen resolution picker.

The South Korean giant debuted the Space Zoom feature with the Galaxy S20 Ultra which was made possible by the periscope camera that debuted in the device. The latest update seems to improve the performance of the camera by making text in images more legible at higher zoom levels, in addition to other overall enhancements.

Along with the camera improvements, another small change comes in the way of a new UI for the screen resolution setting (spotted by a user in XDA Developers’ forums) that now offers a preview of a cropped section of an image to denote the difference between the resolution options.

The fourth beta is beginning to roll out to users in Germany first but is expected to devices in more markets sooner than later. You can head to Setting > Software update > Download and install to check if you have the update ready to be served to your S20 enrolled in the beta program.

Samsung is expected to roll out One UI 3 to the S20 series by the end of this month. With the release nearing launch, it is less likely to see any major changes make it to the Android 11-based skin. Major changes being made to the skin include improvements to the UI, in-box apps, smarter Bixby routines, and much more. You can head here to check out our overview of the top features in One UI 3.
