Free Xbox Music Pass to first 100 people in line for Surface at Microsoft Stores

The value of the Surface tablet just got a bit better if you live near a Microsoft Store location in the US and Canada and will line up to buy the tablet on Friday. The company announced today that the first 100 people in line on Friday at their Microsoft store locations will receive a free one year Xbox Music Pass, which is normally valued at $99.

The Xbox Music Pass is the new name for the Zune Music Pass, which allows its users to stream millions of music tracks on their Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Xbox 360 devices (the Xbox 360 also requires a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription). Microsoft"s page also says there will be unnamed "Xbox prizes" that will be given out as part of the Surface launch.

When Friday comes around, Microsoft will have about 60 Microsoft Store locations open in North America, which includes the 34 holiday stories that the company will open on October 26th but will likely close soon after the holiday shopping season. There"s no word yet on exactly home many units of the Surface will be available in those stores on Friday.
