Exactly one year ago today, Apple unveiled the iPhone SE, marking a return to the popular 4-inch form factor following the release of its 4.7- and 5.5-inch smartphones. Along with the same A9 processor as the bigger iPhone 6s, as well as the same front and rear cameras as its larger siblings, the iPhone SE was priced at $399 for the 16GB model, and $499 for the 64GB version.
Today, Apple announced that the SE - which it describes as "the most powerful phone with a four-inch display" - is getting a modest upgrade. From Friday, it"s doubling the current storage capacity of both models while maintaining its existing prices.
That means that from March 24, you"ll be able to get the iPhone SE with 32GB of storage for $399, or 128GB for $499.
Sadly, the iPhone SE - which actually stands for "Special Edition" - won"t be available with the new (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition color option announced today for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
