Japanese multinational equipment services and electronics manufacturer Fujitsu has announced a series of new devices headed for its home market in the following months. The press release reveals in total six new enterprise models across the firm"s desktop, laptop and tablet PCs series of devices.
First off, its LIFEBOOK laptop series gets a new addition with the 13.3-inch S937/P, featuring either a Core i5 7200U, 7300U or Core i7 7600U with resolutions from 1920x1080 up to 2560x1440. Next up, the ESPRIMO desktop series gets two refreshes, the lower spec D587/R and the Q556/R, both with the latest 7th generation Intel Core processors. The latter of the two shouldn"t be confused with the Q556/2, which offers even more processor choices, including Skylake T variants of the i3, i5, and i7.
Next, the ARROWS series of Windows tablets gets the "compact" 10.1-inch Tab Q507/P-SP, which comes with an Atom x5-Z8550 processor clocked at 1.44 GHz. Of particular interest about it is Fujitsu"s so-called "Slide Passport" authentication system.
Regarding Slide Passport, the company says:
[...] featuring Slide Passport, a slide-style palm vein authentication functionality offering both strong security and convenience. With the simple action of sliding your hand along the guides displayed on the tablet"s touchscreen, the small slide-style palm vein sensor installed in the tablet"s frame will read and authenticate the pattern of veins in your hand.
The sensor mentioned is both IPX-4 dust resistant and IPX-5 water resistant, which Fujitsu claims enables its "use in a variety of business situations".
Beyond these four, the company has also announced two more laptops, the beastly, VR-ready 17.3-inch CELSIUS H970, which features either a Core i5 7440HQ, Core i7 7820HQ, Xeon E3-1505M v6 or Xeon E3-1535M v6 processor. Because this is a workstation-grade mobile solution, it comes with either an Nvidia Quadro P3000, P4000 or P5000 graphics card.
Last but not least is the FUTRO MU937, which at 799 g is positioned by the firm as " the world"s lightest 13.3" mobile thin client". Indeed, it comes 180 g under the 13.3-inch LG Gram"s 979 g 2017 model.
