When it comes to cameras on smartphones, things are getting pretty good. While they won"t match a DSLR or a standalone point and shoot camera, the quality is for the most part reliable, and it"s also something that you will usually have with you on a daily basis. We have previously seen lens attachments offered for the iPhone, but the Fusion Lens is a little different, as it manages to convert the handset"s cameras to allow them to take 360-degree stills, all for a price that seems quite fair.
The Fusion Lens is currently available through an Indiegogo campaign and is an accessory that can be clipped to any compatible iPhone, requiring no additional power. By using the accompanying app, you"ll be able to snap 360-degree stills and create time lapses.
Though seemingly complex, the attachment simply utilizes the front and rear cameras on the phone and then uses its own app to stitch together one 6K image. As of now, you can fund the campaign for $44 USD, and choose from four colors for either the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus. The device is expected to start shipping in February.
