Galaxy Home Mini will reportedly be available only as a freebie with Galaxy S20 pre-orders

Samsung"s Galaxy Home and Home Mini have long eluded consumers who have been waiting to get their hands on the smart speakers since the original product was announced in 2018. A week before the company"s Unpacked event for the Galaxy S20 series reveal, rumors circulated that the Galaxy Home Mini could finally see the light of day alongside Samsung"s latest high-end smartphones.

Then the Galaxy S20 family was introduced and neither the miniaturized Bixby-powered speaker nor its bigger sibling saw their own unveiling, unfortunately. Instead, Samsung decided to offer the Home Mini as a freebie for those who pre-order the Galaxy S20 devices in South Korea. A new report today claims that the company is not planning to offer the Home Mini as a separate product for now (via TizenHelp).

According to the report, which cites a deleted forum post, the device will remain as a pre-order gift with Galaxy S20 pre-orders. In addition, there is currently no word on its final release date. For those who are eager to experience Samsung"s fabled smart speaker, that means they will need to purchase the costly Galaxy S20, S20+ or S20 Ultra for the time being and in the foreseeable future. The S20 series will be hitting consumers" doorsteps on March 6, so the Home Mini is supposed to be rolling out to customers on that day as well.
