Last month, we learnt that the Samsung Galaxy S III was the only Android device to have applications such as Flipboard and S-voice as exclusive applications. We quickly learnt from a leak discussed last month that Flipboard was confirmed to be working on most Android devices. As of today, we can confirm that S-voice will run on all Android devices and the APK for the application is available to download from Android.HDBlog.
Samsung previously stated that the application will be altered so that it cannot run on any other device other than a Galaxy S III, but a ROM leak last week suggests the application featured in the ROM build is unaltered.
The application works to some extent providing you don’t set the device running the application to unlock through voice. If you do attempt to set it, the application force-closes and will continue to do so until it is reinstalled. In other words: just continue tapping “Next” during the introductory section of the application. We’ve tried this application on a Galaxy S II, Nexus S and an old HTC Desire so we can confirm it works.
S-voice will only run on Android 4.0 (Ice-cream Sandwich) devices apparently, but we cannot confirm that due to all of our devices already running on Android 4.0.4.
