Earlier today, a new build of Windows 10 found its way to the web and this time around it is version 10147. In this build, there are a few UI updates as well, along with changes to title bars, and the Edge branding has now replaced Spartan.
Seeing as this is a leaked build and there is no support from Microsoft, we don"t blame you if you don"t want to install the OS. More so, if you do install the build, it"s best to keep this version away from any production machines and if possible, install it in a VM.
In this release, Microsoft has updated tablet mode with a few new navigation elements. The hamburger button in the top left opens recent programs and the button at the bottom jumps directly to the all apps section.
In addition, more apps are using the colored title bar feature which thankfully hides the awful gray/white title bar that was previously used. But what"s more interesting is that the Phone Companion app is using accented title bars.
We suspect that Microsoft will eventually make all title bars match the accent color where they are not specifically colored by the developer, and this is the first time we have seen this type of coloring in a build of Windows 10.
And yes, the Phone Companion app that Microsoft had previously announced is in this build but unfortunately, the app does not run at this time.
The clock/calendar widget has been updated again as well and now supports the dark theme too. Speaking of which, Edge now supports the dark theme too in this build.
The Action Center has a few updates as well, with a link to open OneNote, and a "Quiet Hours" button has shown up too. Also, if you right mouse click on the desktop, the context menu has two new icons for Display settings and Personalize.
