- Sony Online has officially announced PlanetSide 2, the sequel to its sci-fi first person shooter MMO. The game doesn"t have a launch date yet.
- Electronic Arts has announced that the PC Digital Deluxe version of the upcoming RPG Mass Effect 3 will be an exclusive of its Origin download service.
- id Software"s main programmer John Carmack has predicted that mobile gaming technology will soon surpass the tech of current generation game consoles.
- Limbo, the critically acclaimed Xbox Live Arcade platform game, will be released for the PS3 July 19 and for the PC via Steam on August 2.
- The possible (but not yet confirmed) hardware requirements for the PC version of Battlefield 3 have been posted.
- io Interactive is "interested" in reviving its third person action-strategy game Freedom Fighters for a second installment.

- For some odd reason someone in Hollywood thinks making a movie based on Space Invaders is a good idea.
- The "PAX 10", the 10 indie games that will be shown at Seattle"s Penny Arcade Expo in August, have been revealed.
- Happy Cloud, a new PC game download service that allows people to start playing a game while the rest of the game is being downloaded in the background, will launch in beta form on July 18.
