Tomorrow is the first official day of summer and also the longest day of the year. Which of course means more time to stay cool indoors playing games:
- Several former members of UK-based Black Rock Games have formed the new development studio ShortRound Games.
- Paradox Interactive has announced King Arthur Fallen Champions, (shown above) an upcoming downloadable $9.99 game that bridges the gap between King Arthur and the upcoming King Arthur II.
- Codemasters has shut down the multiplayer servers for the PC and PS3 versions of the racing game GRID, just three years after the game was released.
- Tomasz Gop, the senior producer at CD Projekt for their fantasy RPG The Witcher 2, has now left the developer.
- Some retail web sites show a December 1 release date for Rockstar"s long delayed sequel Max Payne 3.
- Apparently CBS is still living in the early 1990s when it comes to reporting on Sega"s hack attack.
- It"s not exactly a shock but rumors of a possible Grand Theft Auto V release in 2012 is "pretty likely".
- Mass Effect 3 was the most promising retail game show at E3 2011 earlier this month, at least according to one analyst group.
- Electronic Arts wins in court in a case involving the Godfather games and the estate of the late bank robber John Dillinger.
- Nintendo is already telling reporters that the graphical performance of the Wii U won"t be a huge leap above current consoles.
- Deus Ex Human Revolution will be the subject of an art exhibit in New York City on July 28.
