Garmin announces slew of new GPS devices

Garmin announced a slew of new GPS products at CES this week. For those of you who like to geocache or simply want to know where you are and how to get to a particular destination, Garmin"s new offerings looked pretty impressive.

To summarize what we saw:

The Nuvi 800 series got some new members that support MSN Direct and voice recognition. The Nuvi 5000 was released and similarly supports MSN Direct and voice recognition plus has a much larger display (i.e. less portable but better looking).

The new Garmin Colorado series is a handheld GPS device that seems more targeted at geocaching. It also supports the new "Wherigo" activities that is designed to be the next level of geocaching.

The Forerunner 405 looks like a wrist watch and is designed primarily for fitness enthusiasts.
