Gboard lets you create emoji-style stickers that look like you

Google has announced that it is now letting users create emoji-style mini stickers that look like the user. The feature is accessible through the Gboard keyboard app from the sticker section. The new feature uses machine learning to take your picture and turn it into a sticker. Google will generate three emoji stickers from the picture you take, these are called, Bold, Sweet, and Emoji so you’ll be able to find something for every occasion.

Discussing the new feature, Jennifer Daniel, Creative Director, Expressions team at Google, said:

“After you take a selfie, emoji Minis use Google’s machine learning algorithms, known as neural networks, to suggest a skin tone, hair style and accessories that you can fine tune. Then, you choose a color for your hair, facial hair or different types of head coverings and eyewear. Add freckles or wrinkles—a little or a lot—if you"d like. Design your Minis so they resemble what you look like in your eyes—or in your mind.”

Google also gives you some other presets based on your picture. If you’ve got brown hair, for example, you’ll be offered a selection of emojis with the same coloured hair, including a zombie emoji, appropriate for Halloween.

The new feature is available in the latest Gboard update in all countries and for all languages on both iOS and Android.
