While there are plenty of options when it comes to portable displays like HP"s EliteDisplay S14 or the AOC I1601FWUX, those options, and many others, don"t offer luxuries like a built-in hinge, touchscreen, and a battery. The newly launched Gemini is a portable display with a battery that comes in two variants and starts at just $159.
The Gemini looks quite sleek in its design and offers a collapsible hinge stand that makes it ideal to stow and take on the go. As mentioned before, there are two variants of the monitor, a 1080p model with touchscreen capabilities, that has ports for power, USB Type-C, dual micro-USB, and dual mini HDMI. The 4K model does not have a touchscreen and has two USB 2.0 ports, USB Type-C, mini DisplayPort, HDMI port, and power.
The display also has dual speakers and the battery is touted as providing up to five hours of life. Those looking for versatility will be happy to know that the display can be used in landscape or portrait mode. As for other specifications, you can check them out in the chart above.
If interested, you can head to the Kickstarter page in the source below. The 1080p touchscreen model starts at $159, while the UHD variant can be had for $269. These prices are for those that get in on the campaign early. The price will increase as more folks fund the project. The retail price of the FHD model will cost $299, while the UHD variant will cost $499. Like with any crowdfunding campaign, be aware that you are supporting an idea and not purchasing a product. There is always the chance the company can fail and the product might not be delivered.
