Today, those that pre-ordered their Galaxy Note9 will get them in hand, and plenty more will head to stores to make their latest handset purchase. The Note9 will no doubt be an excellent smartphone but it looks like Samsung has made sure that folks will be getting better acquainted with its digital assistant Bixby this go-round by not allowing the service to be disabled.
So what does this mean? It means you won"t be able to head into the settings for Bixby in order to disable the service and you won"t be able to turn off the dedicated hardware button. While you can probably overlook Bixby when it comes to the OS, you will most likely run into some issues with the dedicated Bixby button, as it is located right under the volume button. Whenever you go to lower the volume and accidentally hit the Bixby button, you will summon the service.
This will most likely become a bit of a pain for seasoned Android users but who knows what first time Samsung users will think. Hopefully, Samsung will change this option in the future, as it did allow the service to be disabled in previous handsets like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note8. If not, maybe there will be an ambitious developer that will make it happen.
