Google adds new search filters to make it easier to find remote jobs

Almost two years ago, Google released a new feature in its search engine that would allow people to efficiently sift through job search results in order to quickly find one that"s the perfect fit for them. According to the company, this new capability is utilized by many in the US and the UK.

Now, Google has rolled out a new improvement to this feature, allowing users to utilize search filters such as "work from home" to locate remote jobs.

As demonstrated above, users can now simply search for queries such as "customer service jobs", and then apply search filter such as "remote", "work from home", and "telecommute", to find an employment opportunity that suits them best. It is also possible to directly apply the filter to locate all possible job opportunities relevant to the filter. Google noted that:

For employers looking to help potential remote workers better discover these opportunities, we’re using new Schema.org markup for job locations and applicant location requirements to indicate work-from-home roles and any related geographic restrictions. Regardless of the specific words employers use to describe remote jobs, those marked up listings will be discoverable through this new feature.

The company is also collaborating with various websites which list employment opportunities such as ZipRecruiter and Working Nomads to improve its search results. The capability is also available to employers using Google"s Cloud Talent solution. The new search filters are currently available in the US only but will likely make their way to the UK soon as well.
