Google announces fashion-first Fitbit Luxe fitness tracker

Google has unveiled the Fitbit Luxe, a fitness and wellness tracker with close attention paid to how fashionable it looks. The Fitbit Luxe is the first fitness tracker in the Fitbit line-up to come with a colour touchscreen (AMOLED) for vibrant colours. It is available in three colours: graphite, platinum, and soft gold.

The new display is two times brighter than existing Fitbit devices under sunlight so you can read it more easily. The Fitbit Luxe is also equipped with an ambient light sensor which will automatically brighten or dim the screen to make usage more comfortable. Despite the Fitbit Luxe’s brighter screen, Google says that you’ll still squeeze out five days of usage on a single charge.

On the functionality side of things, the Fitbit Luxe comes packed with features including stress management tools, sleep tracking and a Sleep Score, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, and Active Zone Minutes (AZMs) to personalise your health data to ensure you’re reaching recommended activity guidelines set out by the World Health Organization. Fitbit Luxe also feeds several pieces of data into the Health Metrics dashboard including skin temperature variation, breathing rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and oxygen saturation (SpO2).

The device is now available for pre-order for $149.95 but there are several accessories you can add to your basket that will send the price up. The black, lunar white, orchid, and peony classic bands cost $29.95, hibiscus and slate woven bands cost $34.95, the black, earth grey croc, and sunrise premium Horween leather double wrap bands cost $49.95, the platinum stainless steel and soft gold stainless steel mesh bands cost $79.95, and finally the soft gold stainless steel and platinum stainless steel gorgana Parker Link Bracelet costs $99.95.
