Google has announced that from June 23rd onwards potential Glass purchasers will be able to obtain the device with designer frames for an even more elitist look than the standard model allows.
Google wrote on their Glass blog that the collection of unique frames will be available to purchase exclusively from Net-A-Porter and the Google Glass store. The designs were made by the iconic American fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg - popularly known as DVF - and there is a choice of five frames and eight shades to help you "make Glass your own".
Google has actually had previous experience of working with Furstenberg on the Glass project. In 2012 they took to the catwalk at the New York Fashion Show to document her performance through the eyes of Glass.
Google Glass will soon be available with a set of designer DVF frames including this "Graphite Flash" Aviator model
The designs are based upon those offered to the "Glass Explorers" in January in the Titanium Collection of frames. The Titanium Collection itself will also be available to purchase through Mr Porter from June 23rd alongside the new DVF designs.
Diane von Furstenberg commented on the designs saying that "technology is your best accessory." Google say that they are "honoured" to collaborate with her "talented" team. For the public, it means that wearing Glass could now attract you even more stares and attention from people passing by than wearing a current, standard Google unit does.
