A report from Reuters is stating that Google is looking to see if the recent hack into its services was possibly assisted by an employee or employees from Google China. The report indicates that the attack used a modified version of the Hydraq Trojan that allows for backdoor access into any infected computer.
“Local media, citing unnamed sources, reported that some Google China employees were denied access to internal networks after Jan. 13, while some staff were put on leave and others transferred to different offices in Google"s Asia Pacific operations. Google said it would not comment on its business operations.”
As the Google vs China debacle continues, one thing for sure is that the relationship between Google and China will never be the same. The real question remains if Google will actually pull out of China or if it is unwilling to leave one of the largest markets in the world.
