Because December has pretty much become Star Wars month, and the brand new movie is set to debut in less than two weeks, Google is constantly bombarding us with Easter eggs and hidden features related to the now Disney-owned franchise.
The latest of these showed up in the last few days, and it’s directly on Google’s main search page. And we have to admit it’s pretty cool one. All users have to do, is search for the famous opening phrase of the Star Wars movies: “a long time ago in a galaxy far far away”. The results will be displayed in a format familiar to any fan.
Though as pointed above, this isn’t the first Star Wars themed redesign coming from Google. In fact the search company seems obsessed to join in the craze, by offering users special experiences on many of its products, including Chrome, Gmail, Maps and even Android Wear. Together with Verizon they"re also offering special Star Wars Google Cardboard viewers.
All in all this is a nice treat for the millions of fans of the beloved franchise and luckily, those who are less passionate about the whole deal can easily avoid most of these promotions.
