Google announced today that it is rolling out a number of new features and improvements to the Google Fit app. Among the fresh changes coming to the health-tracking platform are a dark mode and an improved sleep tracker.
The new updates will allow users to see their sleep patterns on a chart over a specific period by pairing their sleep app with Google Fit. The sleep patterns will be displayed on a graph of purple bars in the home screen of the app.
Additionally, you can access and edit your sleep history through the journal tab. Of course, this information is in addition to the other activities you have performed during the day.
Also, as part of Google"s wider effort to offer dark themes for its services, the health-tracking app is getting a dark mode. It"s not going to be turned on by default, though, and users will need to enable it themselves from the settings menu.
Finally, Google Fit is adding a summary of your workouts to iOS, complete with map routes of all your activities. This feature is already available on Android. That means iPhone users will soon be able to track their workouts on their Apple Watch or Wear OS smartwatch, among others. These updates will go live next week.
