Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 is now available for purchase

After announcing the product last May, Google"s Glass Enterprise Edition 2 is now available for purchase for anyone. Previously, certain partners could grab one to start developing solutions for businesses, but now Google is aiming it at all developers.

In fact, the Mountain View firm has also published some code samples, to help developers to get started with the headset. Glass is also made using Android (8.0 Oreo, oddly enough), so it shouldn"t be too hard to get started. What"s presumably harder is fitting the augmented reality use case into the business.

As of today, anyone can buy one from CDW, Mobile Advance, and SHI. At $1,199, it"s not cheap though; however, it"s also not tremendously expensive when considering how much mobile hardware can cost these says, with foldable smartphones costing thousands of dollars.

Google has the full specs of Glass Enterprise Edition 2 listed on its website. The headset includes a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, has 3GB RAM, 32GB eMMC storage, and a 640x360 optical display module. It has an 820mAh battery, and a USB 2.0 Type-C port for charging, making it the first Glass headset with USB Type-C.
