Google has reportedly made $31 billion from Android

A lawyer who was given access to Google"s financial records has revealed in a January 14th court case what was supposed to be a classified piece of information: Google"s revenue amount and net profit for Android, which are as much as $31 billion and $22 billion respectively, Bloomberg reports.

Google reportedly requested that that information be redacted from the public court transcripts as it considered the figures to be "extremely sensitive information" and emphasized that "non-public financial data is highly sensitive, and public disclosure could have significant negative effects on Google’s business." The court transcript was quietly removed from the web on the afternoon of the 20th, but not before people were able to read or save portions of it.

The figures listed above compliment other figures that came out from the same dispute with Oracle this week with Google reportedly paying Apple $1 billion to keep the Google Search bar on iOS in 2014.

This is yet another chapter in the Google-Oracle conflict which has been ongoing since 2011 with no end in sight.
