Google launched its Home speaker hub in the United States last year, and it also went on sale in the United Kingdom a few weeks ago. Now, the company is preparing to make it more widely available.
At its I/O developer conference this week, Google announced that Home is coming to five new markets:
- Australia
- Canada
- France
- Germany
- Japan
Google hasn"t yet announced pricing for those markets, or an exact launch date, saying only that it will be released in those countries sometime this summer.
It also revealed this week that its digital Assistant - which powers the voice interactions on Home - is getting new language support this summer, with the addition of French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese. By the end of this year, it will support Italian, Spanish, and Korean too.
The Assistant is already installed on over 100 million devices, and is now available on iPhones too.
