In collaboration with Google, uBreakiFix, an electronics repair service, stated that frontline workers amid the coronavirus pandemic will be entitled to receive free Pixel smartphone repairs. These include law enforcement, police officials, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), firefighters, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and nursing home and hospital staff.
Those employed in the aforementioned fields can receive one free repair from any of the firm"s 500 participating U.S. locations. The initiative covers all types of damages, including screen damage, charging port issues, battery replacements, camera issues, speaker issues, and liquid damage. Emergency responders or healthcare professionals need to present their ID badge at a uBreakiFix"s location to have their Pixel phone repaired. Eddie Trujillo, uBreakiFix Vice President of Partnerships, said:
“We’re grateful to work with our friends at Google to honor those serving on the frontlines of this crisis. We know that a broken smartphone is more than just an inconvenience right now, and it’s our privilege to do what we can to help first responders and healthcare heroes stay connected to what matters most during this time.”
The offer will last through June 30. In the wake of the crisis, the firm is now offering curbside services, and at-home repairs to ensure social distancing is maintained to curb the spread of the virus.
